So I got the 661 with the 36" stihl bar. My normal go to is a 28". I usually use Oregon power match bars but I'm seeing that people have been putting on these sushi bars. What in a 28 would balance nicely, are they in fact better and if so which one and from where ?

Isn’t sushi bar a place you go to eat raw fish?

I’m going to guess you meant Sugihara and auto correct made it sushi. On my 9010 Makita I’m running a reduced weight TsuMura 36” bar and I like how it handles.

Auto correct is a pia sometimes. Is it relatively stiff ? I have never seen one in person. Looking to have the saw somewhat balanced when I'm carrying it around is why I'm thinking about the reduced weight.

4 outa 5 of my saws are wearing sugihara bars. Not sure if I really need em or not but I think they look really good. I did weigh a 28” Sugi against a 24” factory Husqvarna bar (both large mount) and they were the same. 056E27F1-24EB-4193-BBBE-FBB79C17767E.jpeg

After a bit of searching i found the a member here by the name "fordf150" peddles bars. I sent him a message but haven't heard back yet. Although it doesn't appear that he's been around here for a while so that might not prove fruitful.

His shop burned and he’s not back up running yet.

I’d look into Tsumura. They’re a bit less expensive and lighter weight. RedBull on ope used to sell them but I think he’s moved onto other things. Sugi lightweights are almost as heavy as most regular weight bars. But they have really good rails.

If you are looking a Tsumura , also look for Total super bars . They are Tsumuras . A bit less $$ when you find them .

This is the first I've heard of that.

He put so much time, energy, and money into that place.

Last I knew he was just about ready to open the shop too.

I'm hoping it balances enough that I can walk around without it catching on everything. I have a hard enough time getting around already.

Nate has been getting some run around from the insurance company not returning calls. He said that it will probably be spring of 2021 before he actually has a brick and mortar business up and running again. I do know that he had hundreds of bars destroyed in the fire.
