Depending on type and how long it's been sitting there might be some firewood there. Looks like a bit of fire pit wood.
Pretty sure ya gotta get the saw out and test a few. Cat blends in well. Looks like a cool place to live.
The smaller stuff almost looks too far gone for indoor use. The bigger pieces look like there's still some decent wood left in the heart of it. Split it and give it a chance to dry under that Scandinavian summer sun You might be surprised what's beneath the moss and soggy bark.
No kidding! That is one cool looking cat...have any better pics of him? I agree on the wood pile...worth investigating.
Started to scroll down on the picture and saw the sapling in the background. But I see firewood and a pretty kittycat. Bet it will be much better than it looks. Almost looks like so honey locust bark on some of it.
Snake weather, NAY! Cold, snake hibernation weather? Worth looking through and salvaging what is good.
if no rot yes. Seems like its decent enough. A lot of work, but putting up wood is work. I like the cat and scalloped slate roof too!
Viking80 is it your house? If so you probably need to get rid of the wood one way or another. So firewood is a nice way to get rid of it. Can you tell us why there is a stone on top of the chimney?
Thanks!! I love the roof too. Lasts 60 to 80 years, at least. Yeah, it’s our place. The small house closest to the pile will be rented out to summer guests soon. And yes, I will need to get rid of it one way or another! I messed up the property! As to the chimney stone, that’s just how the chimneys were around these parts in the olden days. And still many places. It’s called a “gauk”. (Cuckoo)
