Sometimes it feels that way. No way to rationalize why life twists and turns the way it does. My younger brother, (a stoke victim) often reminds me that he and I are the only ones left of our family. I respond to him by saying "we are the ones left over".

Yup savemoney , my dad and his sister, the youngest two are left out of 11. Some things are easily accepted because they are inevitable. As you well know how you take care of yourself has a lot to do with things. My uncle was a 3 pack a day smoker for most of his life and it caught up with him. Thankful he did not suffer what he could have and went in peace sleeping. Cousin that had the stroke bad alcoholic, heavy smoker, overweight. Could see that one coming. 17 year old girl running a stop sign in Caribou at 11 pm? Not much traffic at that time of day there. Ramp truck coming back from a tow job. My cousins best friends son was driving the truck. That is kinda hard. She was a good kid with everything going for her.

Misty, trying to rain morning here. Not much happening. Probably go for a walk if it clears up a bit.

Yesterday Chaz took to a section of the property I have never been to. There is a second logging trail down toward the bottom of the hill. It is pretty over grown but still wide enough for an ATV. Very beautiful there. A lot of wood to be had. Down and leaners. Hopefully these pics came out ok.

Did some hoeing this morning. It is really tough on the back and neck problems I have but has to be done. Plants are up enough now so that we can put some straw out to keep the weeds down and the moisture in. Look like next week I may have to get the water line in so we can water the garden. Seems odd with things so wet but looking at the strawberries this morning, they could use some water. Strange indeed.

On the other hand, we did pick strawberries today.

And Camber , picked up a couple plants from the local gardening club, the expert lady said the soil has to be 76* to germinate, we are not warm enough yet. So, they "might" come up.

maybe so. it seems like out carrots always started when the ground was in the low 50s. I might try some tomato IR plastic next season. Too late this year to expect much. 52 degrees now, and it is suppose to get down to the mid twenties tonight, and tomorrow night. Rough gardening conditions:zip:

Just got caught in a nasty thunderstorm on the boat. Went from cloudy with a light chance of the storm to all hell breaking loose. Luckily, I had a few neighbors at the dock to help me get in my slip with the wind howling.
