Woodwidow I expected to see more snow on the tops of those distant mountains.

It has been quite dry in our area. Lower part of the mainland and Vancouver Island got far more snow/rain that we did this winter.

While I was home for lunch today, we had a rain shower move through and bless us with this awesome rainbow display. It started just off shore of town and moved out over the point. I have never seen one this low to the water and such vivid colours. God's promise in living colour. A secondary one formed to the left of the picture but it was very faint.

Over a year later and I took this picture of the early morning sunshine. An evening shot would show the snow still on the mountains on the mainland. I will try to remember to take a picture this evening.

Tried to get a closer look at the mountains on the mainland.

I remembered to take a pic later yesterday but we had a cloud cover move in so it is rather dark.

This was taken a couple of days ago and I thought you all would enjoy it. Early morning peace

For all you gardeners, yes that brilliant yellow is Scottish broom. Very invasive but so bright and cheerful in the early summer.
    100_5437.JPG

Whenever land gets disturbed by machinery like this did a few years ago, the broom comes alive and spreads rapidly. Hard to see all the cement retaining walls built a while ago. There are a few plants with almost all red flowers.

Alright I am a day later but here are the pictures I promised.
At 11:00 AM, the fog has lifted in our area but is still hanging around on the other side of Malcolm Island.

    IMG_0754.JPG

At 1:30 PM everything is cleared off and it is pretty calm out there. Starting to get warm (for here anyway)
    IMG_0768.JPG

    IMG_0769.JPG

It is 5:45 PM and the westerly has come up. This is a cold wind and it is pretty gusty out on the water. Clothes got dry on the line.
    IMG_0770.JPG

    IMG_0771.JPG
the little green dot above the log dump and below the clothesline is a hobie cat sailboat or something similar just going like stink in the wind.
    IMG_0772.JPG

9:00 PM at night and the fog is starting to roll in. It will be pretty foggy in the morning.
    IMG_0773.JPG

It is 10:00 PM and the sun is setting through the fog. It sort of cleared off as the temperature went down.

If it had a belt driven blower I would have bought it to get the blower , but it has the vacuum cleaner motor for a blower so I'll pass . Its just north of you in Quebec .

We are not often above the fog in the morning. By the time we went for our walk, there was a red glow on the horizon in the east.
