    The work will be there after you return from a not too long weekend- but much fun and meeting fellow hoarders....:yes: that’s not something one gets to do very often.

    Thinking the same thing as I was typing.
    Brother had told me about a job not too far from us recently and at our Fri. fish fry GTG, he said he turned it down. Whole house gutted so they needed all new ductwork, furnace/air and plumbing rough-in...:makeitrain"We've both been pretty busy. I'm glad he turned it down.

    Here's where we are as of right now.....had two friends of mine who do blockwork every day put the skeleton up for me. They're much faster and did it for a reasonable price, and got it done between downpours, so I farmed it out to them.

    Here it is, the basic shell is up. Time to core-fill all the hidden cavities and voids, build the firebrick liner and domed ceiling for the fireplace firebox, build the flue transfer pipe and base of the flue, and get the forms ready for the poured mantel/pizza oven floor. It's slowly but surely getting there!

    I went back through the whole thread. I hope the work can move forward so you can enjoy it before long. It is not an easy balance cramming so much in. Keep at it.

    It's depressing, honestly. It's been so rainy here all dammed summer. Trust me, I want to advance it. Hoping to get a chance to work it some this weekend, maybe get the floor of the fireplace and the firebrick walls/roof dome for the fireplace done the next 7 to 10 days. See weather does.....

    Scotty, it looks to me like the weather patterns are changing a bit. You were wet while we were dry. In the last 2 weeks things have changed drastically here as we have really been getting rains and it is coming one after another before things even dry out. Got another 1.7" last night. Trying to rain again now. I understand things have slowed down a bit out your way and its a good thing.

    Sadly guys, it got put on the back burner for quite a while. We had monsoon after monsoon, then winter hit, then another rainy spring......

    The good news is I'm getting set up to progress it some in a few weeks, I'm taking a vacation from everything and will be working on it as well as another flowerbed for "The Boss Hen" here at the coop......lol

    So I will most certainly update yinz all with current pics just as soon as we get started......

    It's been a long time coming, but we are back on the rails with the pizza oven project! Finally after a long bout with our local brickyard, we got all the red firebrick for the project, as well as 10 bags of Heat Stop 50 hydraulic refractory mortar.

    Been working on the fireplace firebox this week, also forged a set of new hinges for the huge 18th century crane I wanted to install on it..


    Firebox is lined, hinges are anchored for the crane, now onto building forms for the front arch and the dual flues....stay tuned!
