I found a Facebook ad to cut some trees down for free. Not the best photo. Is it maples?

Sort of. Looks like box elder to me by the way it's growing. Also known as Manitoba Maple...

Can't get a good look at the leaves, but I see one that might be a silver maple.

Unless you're really desperate for firewood, I'd charge to take those down. Box Elder is my guess as well. I for sure wouldn't do any brush clean up etc. for "free" wood of that type.

She said I can leave all the brush.
I am supposed to go look at it this week. I will take better photos of them.

I just love the way folks on Facebook and Craigslist think
crap like that is "free" firewood!

That’s my big laugh when I’m sweating to death for all that “free wood.” Buck it, load it, unload it, split it and stack it, yep, that’s free.

dahmer , you forgot the hardest part: felling the trees before you can buck it, load it, unload it, split it, and stack it!!

I usually get lots of storm blow downs in yards. They can’t be bothered to clean any of it when you’re the one getting all the “ free wood.”
