Big stuff like that is where going vertical to halve or quarter them is really nice...or if out in the woods I'll often cut a kerf with the saw (make a few noodles) drop a wedge or two in and send 'em home. Quick and efficient, if the wood is not super gnarly.
If I can't lift it onto my splitter I pass. I do this for recreation and don't need a trip to the surgeon.
Good way to handle it brother. We've done the same quite a few times. We made ramps to roll rounds on, don't pick them up.
Big stuff is much slower than what you can handle by hand. You set up looks as good as it can get for big stuff. We normally cut in half to be able to lift by hand.
