First pic is the white oak. Handle on the wedge banger is 28". I put the 32" bar on my 461. I tend to dip the bar when I fell with the 32. I don't do it often, its mostly for bucking but I needed it for the red oak. I over compensated from the high side knowing I dip the bar tip resulting in a a higher than I like back cut on the low side. It was weighted to the low side over an old barn so I set a line in the tree, ran a redirect off of a walnut to the skid steer on the trail to keep tension on it while I set wedges then pull it over when I got the lift I wanted.

Next pick is the red oak. It had nothing around it and had a hard lean. I made my face cut, cut the low side setting up a hinge, and left a center post to help prevent barber chair. I set the hinge on the high side and started cutting up the back. The lean was enough with the massive size of the tree to snap the center portion I hadn't cut up yet and carry the tree home. The hinge was about 7" . 32" bar on the 461, the red oak was wider than bar and power head together.

I only got stump pics as I was cutting for my FIL. I brought about two cords of white oak home. They were both standing dead.

Trees one the ground with no injury or destruction, is always a good thing!

Sweet. You'll get a lot of wood from those oaks.

I was cutting for my FIL, I got the wood I was going to get. Hes a bit timid now when it comes to falling.

He calls me for tricky ones and for straight falling jobs, like land clearing.
