When you need a custom size screen door, you build one.

I needed a 37"x80" screen door to finish off the front porch but couldn't find anything that size. So i grabbed some #1 pine 1x4 and 1x2 and got to work. Turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself. It's currently drying after a few coats of stain. Then I'll screen it and hang it.

It does look nice. I like the bottom part as that area gets so beat up if it is just screen.

Thanks everyone! I got it screened and hung today. It's so nice to finally be screened in again. Still have to nail up the trim over the screen edges (it needs to be stained)

Millie is wondering why she can't just walk right out the door anymore.

I used a kreg jig and was very impressed with how strong the joints were.

Woodwidow thank you. Yes i needed something that would take some abuse with a 6 yr old, 1.5yr old and two dogs haha.

I bought a Kreg to use back when I was doing my kitchen remodel...was also impressed with the strength of the joints.
Nice solve on the custom door...I'm sure that would have cost at least $3-400 to have custom made.

Thanks! My father in law has talked about how much he liked his kreg before so i figured why not try one out. I know it'll come in handy with other projects.

Jack Straw thanks again. It was nice to sit on the porch enjoying a cold one and look at how good everything turned out. Sometimes I even suprise myself haha

Figured either that or biscuits. Think how strong both biscuits and the Kreg screws would be. Very nice job on the door. Great color stain. Almost has a Mission style!

Thanks! Heck if i used biscuits and kreg screws you could use it as a vault door! I joined this vanity top with quite a few biscuits and you can park a truck on it.

I just didn't have the joiner on hand for this screen door some I'm hoping the Kreg joints hold up. Time will tell.

    Aawsome work, I'm impressed!

What's the wood on the vanity top? Looks great by the way...

Looks like reclaimed something? Maybe a couple different woods? Anyways very nice job with everything. If you have some spare time, come by my place for a couple projects... :)

Thank you! The vanity top is made from some studs we pulled out of an exterior wall we demoed for our addition. They're true rough cut 2x4's. I sanded them lightly and gave them 5 coats of poly with a light sanding between each coat. Here it is all finished. Guess I should've called it a sink base.

Once I'm finished up everything here, I'll head your way haha.

Thank you. I couldn't let them go to waste. And i think its pretty neat to repurpose something from the original part of the house. I still have a few studs leftover but don't have any plans for them yet.
