They'll payback in style! Nothing like fresh eggs!

That should keep the critters out!

Somehow I got dropped of the notifications list for this thread. I went back 3-4 pages so probably still missed some.

Everyone's shelter projects look great and the chicks are so cute. The kitty fascinated by the box of chicks is funny and the dogs were cute.

I have a 4 day old broiler who's not walking around, eating or drinking. Shes pretty much the same size as she was on Day 1. I'm giving her sugar water and ACV via a syringe but it's not doing much.

    Any idea what's going on?

Just finished up the final touch to the tractor... Had to install a cross brace, was getting too much deflection when the lid came down. Plus a cut a custom PVC prop up bar... Tomorrow is the day they will move outside...

That's too bad. Keep an eye on the rest. They are vulnerable at that age.

I like it! Salatin style but much lighter.

I have 2 weeks to get mine built. I'm leaning towards a mini-salatin style but im also looking at the triangle style. It only needs to hold 15 birds and easily move around my suburban backyard.

We lost a girl yesterday, thinking hawk or eagle, no feather trail at all. Typically when a fox or bobcat attacks- feathers everywhere.

I had to google that... .... Correct... Must have been where Stoney Ridge Farmer got his design from.... He used PVC to make his.... I got 16 birds... So the tractor is big enough for like 25 birds... I too had to watch the size, because of the size of my yard that is flat enough to move it on...

That stinks.... How many do you still have? Still the original flock?

I think I found the one I'm making.

I made my raised beds out of cedar pickets. Cheap and easy to work with.

Out of the 16 from 2 years ago there is 9 of them left. I since adopted 4 from a friend that were a year older, lost one of hers and adopted a mean rooster from a family with a child that had down syndrome that was really scared of it. We promised to take care of him although he'll put a hole in your leg if your not watchful lol. So wr currently have 13 including the rooster. They free range after work & weekends.... this attack happened when I left for the grocer. Hoping it was a raptor and not something with 4 legs, otherwise this will happen again soon unless I see it.
