As some of you may remember my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in November. We have survived the Chemo routine and now that her blood levels are where they want them she will be going in Tuesday for a double mastectomy, after which she will be off work for approx. 4-5 weeks and then followed by 3-4 weeks of radiation treatments if needed. The whole process has been an long arduous affair with a few overnight stays in the hospital and a platelet addition thrown in. She is feeling good now she is done with the chemo and she did handle that quite well with no nausea, just tiredness,lack of taste and easy bruising. From day one we both have had a positive attitude and know that this can be beat! Please wish us luck and go give your wife or significant other a hug and tell them that you love them! Gary
I can't begin to imagine what both of you are going through. I wish you both the best. It certainly puts the silly things that we get upset about in our daily lives into perspective.
My prayers are with you and your family gary. Almost two years ago my mom was diagnosed with a form of uterin cancer. Thanfully after a month or so of testing and doctors visits she was able to have the surgery to have everything removed and is cancer free as of right now. But that was one of the toughest things i've ever seen my dad go through. He is a strong, tough man that i've maybe seen cry 2 or 3 times in my life, and i could see the pain in his eyes every time we talked. Your doing the best thing possible by keeping a positive attitude towards this. That's what we did and Prayed ALOT I'll definately keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers

Still thinking of both of you Gary. My wife has told me on more than one occasion, that if she is diagnosed that way......she would have that surgery ASAP. Alive is gooder.
Been there, and had to do it alone. You have half the battle won, as you have each other. You will be surprised at how much your presence is a great strength for her. I was lucky to have a good health plan. I send my love through the web to you both. Good luck, and be happy that you have each other!

Brought the wife home from the hospital today, she is feeling good just sore and tired. The surgery went well and just waiting for the biopsy report. Feels good to have her back as the dishes and laundry are piling up! And she has some interesting pills! Thanks again to everybody for the prayers and wishes. You guys and gals are the best!! Gary
