    DAY 31

Brought another load of groceries to the cottage today. Then, enjoyed a cigar!

But, sigh, I'm back here tonight......:(

Someone else didn't want to stay down there tonight....

Yeah, I know. But, I'll fire up the OWB extra large tomorrow before I bug out and turn down the t-stat. That way, the OWB will still be in good shape for our return on Sat/Sun.

If I have "her" fire up the OWB, it'll end up being with all small splits. (The OWB has the longest burns with the largest rounds) With all that being said, I can give up one overnight and not have to worry about the OWB. :handshake:

No doubt we know many of the same places in the UP. Don't forget, we used to live in the UP too. Our hunting camp was not far from Stuben and the Jack Pine Lodge. Even closer to Boot Lake; just a bit south of there. If you ever find Scots on an old map, that was really close to our camp. Sadly it has been way too long since I was there.

Not the greatest pic, but my wife got a picture of the Starlink satellites as they passed over tonight. Pretty cool.

Got the lime for the lawn, and the wife wanted a few bags of topsoil and compost. Was going to go to TSC, but called the feed store and they were open. Told them what I wanted over the phone, gave them the credit card info and they said ‘when you get here go around back and honk’. Got there, honked, gave them my name, they gave me a receipt, loaded me up and I took off. Cost a few bucks more than TSC, but the little store can use the cash more than a chain store.

Gotta get ready for a wedding. Sister in law is getting married today. They can only have 10 people in the church, so the rest of us are attending via Zoom. That’s a first. I asked my wife if it was appropriate to PayPal money for a Zoom wedding. :dex:

So it looks like the shelter in place for Michigan ends on the 15th of May. 1 day before we need to go and pick up our puppy in the UP.

Today in the state of Maine our “super awesome and responsible” governor said just when you thought you could get out and do something NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, IT’S WAY TOO DANGEROUS FOR YOU TO BE OUT THERE. On another noted she deemed Hobby Lobby as essential and let them reopen to the people that can’t leave home. FML, glad I’m an essential worker and my wife as well. People are hurting now, it’s only going to get worse.

    Day 35

Spent 3 nights at the cottage.

Cut some dead and other wise trees and ended up with some real nice stove chow from the standing dead ones. The higher up the tree, the drier it is and ready to burn!

Did some plumbing, digging, hooking up ready to turn on the water.....only have to put the pipe in the lake and prime pump after the ice goes out. Which should be this week towards the end.

Doesn't look good for the summer, but just as every cloud has it's silver lining....maybe, just maybe the lake will be quieter with less drunktooners every weekend! (drunks on pontoons)

Gov was on again today and I don't think she had anything to say..... Surprise!

Even if extended (it probably will be) go get your dog! He deserved you!

I'll send you a mini constitution book to read to any rogue cops that try to stop you!
