20/21 in lean to, half ash 21/22 in pile all mostly pin oak Shutting down furnace after the remaining scraps are burnt. And an observer of the now de-briared creek Stay safe everyone !
Will take a few days off, but I’ll keep cutting ash and adding to that pile, will start furnace up around 10/1/20. In a few days will c lean it and coat inside with motor oil and plug the stack
Will you do the big wood jamboree with your friends, where everyone gets some? If gatherings are allowed again? Or did you already do it, and I missed it?
We sort of did a rolling fill of the wood buddies during the mild winter and now covid, so everyone is filled up and just one pickup load left from today’s work.
I’m not sure, but at least 10 years. Always a great time to get the family together and work a little and enjoy multiple big meals. I have been cutting a lot this last month and today’s group allowed a five man team to cross a creek and throw over several piles i had no easy way to save. So kept tractor and 4 wheeler cart going most of morning and got everything cut out of water areas. Will let it dry out now and hopefully this summer drag box and find some rainy days to burn brush. Then replant in spring is the plan.
That’s an awesome setup you got there! Looks so tidy too. Gotta feel good having everything nearly buttoned up for the season. Nice workReally nice having your stash right next to the boiler and close to the house. That way every time you walk outside or pull in the drive, you are reminded of the fruits of your labor.
