Free wood on Facebook. I'm just trying to confirm what it is before I haul it home and split/stack it.
The lady is holding it for me until Wednesday mainly because her lot needs to dry out some more,
plus I can haul it in one load with my truck and trailer! There was Locust seed pod evidence on the ground.
Thanks in advance for your help in this I.D

Thanks for your quick replies! I thought Black Locust also, but it doesn't hurt to get a second or third opinion.
That's 2 trees cut that were cut down 2 weeks ago. They were basically standing dead.
They are also going to take down 2 more BL in the near future. I'll let her know to just call me when
that happens and I'll come over and haul it away.:D Best thing is it's only about 10 miles from me!!

JJP in Ohio . Don't think it is dead from the looks of your one pic with the bark skinned off. Dead won't have the white cambium layer under the bark.

Nothing wrong with that set. You’re gonna love heating the house with that stuff. I wonder if the tree was on it’s way out but not standing dead. Too alive for that but either way I’d make sure your saws are sharp and tuned up. They gonna need it.:yes:
