I think instead of spending $200 on a trial I'll just keep using my current setup!

Just keep track of the costs of the tarps and how often they have to be replaced. I also found that taking some wood from the pile in winter can be a nasty job if they are covered in snow or ice or both. That is why I went to galvanized so as to have something more solid and the galvanized won't have to be replaced. In addition, although we have lots of galvanized roofing, we spent zero dollars on it. Part if it came from a small barn I tore down just so I could have the roofing.

I have some rubber roofing that Midwinter graciously gave me. I have several other stacks that need to be top covered too. Just gotta wait until the boat is uncovered.

I had everything under tarps for two winters. It was rough as snow and ice build up made it a pain. If that’s the only option you have, it his what it is. I love the shed I built and only use tarps on 2-3 year out wood!

Thanks Nordic Splitter. It gets a good amount of wind, and a lot of sun in the summer. It doesn't get any sun in the winter because those trees are on the south side of the stack!!:headbang:
The stack in the background by the shed and covered by the "tent" tarp is what I'll be using this coming winter, along with about 1/3 of a cord of Shagbark Hickory under cover on the patio!
