Got some modevation today and headed out to my parents land and cut up a oak I dropped over a year ago, thankfully there was no rot to it yet, it looked like i had just fell it. I think it's a pin oak. The top broke off it a few years ago, I cut that and burned it the year it broke off. Got 21, 20" long rounds out of it, it was wider then my 20" bar. Then I went to work with the isocore. Pile is about 15 ft long, 2 rows wide. I did not load any of it out, as you can see by the standing water around, it's to wet in spots to even get a wheeler out there, so I will wait tell it drys out then hual it home and get it stacked. Still have the limb to cut up but I ran out of steam, so that will be at a later date.
Lotta wood there. Nice work! It did hold up well for a year. Are the quarters the finished size or just manageable to move?
Finished size, I split each round into about 6 splits. I would normally do 4 splits per round, but they are heavy and I'm hoping it will help dry a little faster.
They remind me of a song, "I'm much to young to be this damm old" Over all not bad, my back is stiff, after I sit down for the night the rest will probably fallow suit lol I also have severe carpal tunnel in my right hand and moderate in my left, so a day of chainsaw work and spliting I will probably wake up tonight with them painfully dead.
I have a Taylor 750 OWB. She's got a big door and firebox, so I can load bigger wood then I would want to burn in it lol
