Friday evening after work, we got some more oak bucked and staged on the ramp And since the XS029/20" bar, was out and warmed up, let her play with some big wood. She wasn't scared, did a right fine job. Got these staged by the vertical splitter for quartering. Got 4 15-16" rounds from that log, 1 fell over, probably move it with the tractor.
After that somewhat recent oak loads I picked up, I’m aware 16” rounds are nothing to sneeze at. Heavy as they come... tractors a safe one!
Yep, I was talking length. Those rounds are close to 28-30" dia...HEAVY...tractor with forks barely cleared the ground with that 4' long log.
Most of the stuff I cut I can muscle into the truck once bucked, but a few weeks ago I bucked up a white oak logbthat was maybe 28” or so diameter at the base. I think it was the last 6 or so pieces that were not gonna go in the truck whole! Man are those things heavy! Gotta be over 200# a piece. Ended up noodling them in half In order to get them home. Tractor would have been nice, but I did enjoy doing some noodling

Yes, they get heavy quick. And when someone gives us a job, we try to get it cleaned up quickly and the logs to the yard. Tractor + dump trailer...

Worked on the woodyard Monday morning, bucked up these 2 big oak logs Too heavy to lift with the forks, so use the big tongs and chain. Got 4 16" rounds from this one. Got a nice line of rounds. Used the XS362. I think huskihl and The Wood Wolverine will like this. Split and stacked a box full of smaller rounds in the 15-16" shed. Left home after lunch with dump trailer and tractor, went to my coworker's house to clean up an elm tree. Be very glad if you don't have Spanish moss. It is nature's chain brake, about as bad as the cords in saw chaps. I think I hit 4-5 clumps and the results were the same. Main trunk had some center rot and looked suspect on hidden objects, tossed it on the burn pile, got almost a load on the bigger limbs.
This morning my hunny was able to help. Now she's showing off...flexing... Got a nice pile of quarters to finish up and stack

Yes sir, got lucky on that one, tree service cut them. Had one that made 4 18" rounds, one 4 15" rounds and one made 2 16"and 2 15" rounds. This customer wants 15-16" and gets a whole trailer load at the time. Worked out great.
Thanks, yes sir, both saws run extremely well/strong since huskihl worked on them. Maybe I can figure out the number of splits...maybe I can borrow my hunny's fingers and toes......it was a pretty day, got a bit warm, low 80's. I helped her put out fresh mulch and fertilizer on her flower beds, once we got those big blocks down to handling size. Have to swap out the help sometimes. Her relaxing spot Our knockout rose bed And the lantanas are just beginning to put out. They will be butterfly magnets this summer.
Haven't been back on the woodpile since last Tuesday......but we did manage to score a nice pecan limb from a neighbor in Deepstep. He left the big pieces beside the burn pile for us......it was a LONG limb, most of those are between 5-6' long and HEAVY.
Maybe 2 years, usually use it for cooking/smoking. It's decent firewood, will pop a good bit, doesn't make big coals... I saw your Bills got a GA Dawg. Hope he works out great for the team.
Well my Bill's did real well last year so somebody is starting to make better choices. Just hope it continues.
