The last I heard, the funds were about depleted and a certain political party blocked the voice vote on more funding for that program.

I got called into the main office when I slipped and said the expandable's needed cream for the coffee room. Site director wasn't too happy with me. :(

Was at Hannaford in Hampstead this morning. Guess people weren't staying far enough apart so they made each aisle one-way, marked with arrows, alternating direction each aisle. Other than the bread aisle place was decently stocked.

Talking about doing that at the local Place I use here in NC, and for the same reason. They actually had some TP yesterday, and a few containers of anti-bacterial wipes too. Meat dept was good too.

Weather has been wonderful here these past few days 74 F yesterday (Week and a half ago we had snow)

Getting a lot of work done now on the Cat project.

Just about down to the bare bones now. (What I needed for the project anyway)

Cab off (Good riddance to that heap)
    Old factory motor mounts out
    Center bulkhead cut out.
All the hydraulic hoses and fittings are finally gone.

Mucked out a bucket full of oil soaked looooooooong pine needles...still need to hand scrape more crap out before I hit this beast with the hot washer..

Removed the tranny rear mount and cleaned and straightened it...(Likely the last crew figured out how to bend it) ??????? :picard:

Found a nice "Universal" hot rod DYI engine mount kit for mounting the Chevy Small block....

Still have not got my hands on an engine....likely either a 305 or a 350 will gitterdone.
This Virus thing has got places like Craig's list slowed way down.... plus I really am not hot on going to see people I do not know in the big city...

The difference is The Fab Four uses synthesizers while The Analogues use the original instruments with brass and strings. Check out this one.

Thats why I dislike hard covers. Give me my soft tonneau any day. Roll it up and out of the way- done. The hard covers are more of a PITA than they are worth. Just my opinion though. To each his own

Although there is truth to this, my going to work every day has kept me with a normalcy that many others dont have right now. But unlike you I dont deal with the public, its just several of us in the building. We are doing our best to keep unnecessary interaction down.

The road techs are staying home until they get service calls, and if they need parts we are trying to run them out to them.

Some of those staying home all the time are going batty. Sleep patterns are being disrupted from all the anxiety.

Also, for me its highly advisable to NOT WATCH THE NEWS more than a few minutes at most, They are showing far more than they should. There is informed and then there is today's 24/7 news induced hysteria,

Ive seen 1964 The Tribute once and Rain several times.

Both are good, but we liked Rain better as they do the entire spectrum from beginning to end while 1964 does early material only

Completely agree with not watching too much news!

Yea, I deal with the public......quite literally triple digits of people every day. Some are totally not worried.....they are browsing around, taking their time, acting like nothing is different. Others are hyper sensitive (these people tend to watch ALOT of news).....they will pull up, call in, and have their list where you shop for them, give them a total, and they pay with their credit card, then, you run it out to them and they go. Not sure which is worse...somewhere in the middle?

The people who come in, well, I don't want to seem a d*ck and say, please come in with purpose and get out.....but it might come to that.

The people above who don't come in present another problem. Today, Saturday, arguably the busiest day of the week, we are down 4 people as I write this (its 7:25 am). Dont know what happens when, and if, everyone else shows up at 8. The issue here is that we are WAY short people, and shopping for people is even more time intensive, as well as running stuff out and loading them. It might come to the point where we just take the phones off the hook.....at least someone calls thinking you're busy, rather than not open.

It seems unavoidable in these difficult times to avoid being a d*ck to those people who refuse to understand the situation. So, excuse me when I hear the plight of those who work from home and complain about "being bored". No sympathy here. I do feel bad for the people who are out of work and laid off.....particularly those folks who don't make much in the first place.

Have a nice weekend, everyone.......mine looks "challenging"......

Ive read this three times as there are different aspects of dealing with the public in this post - WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE. Hel l, dealing with the public during normal times sucks these days as its become so demanding- As in so many now demand of you instead of working with you. Thats the direction of today's society and in my opinion isnt a good direction. But thats a whole other issue.

Ultimately your wishes are for people to come in, not browse, purchase and leave. Makes perfect sense right now.

From the get go of this Ive tried to maintain not over reacting in either direction. Going into a store today (which should be done rarely) means having purpose as you mentioned. Purpose should be mixed with understanding all of those around you.

LW, your in a tough situation-deal with this chit or close, hopefully to re-open later. You have to be there to keep on going or risk your life long work while risking your health.

I get that as we are in the same boat and same struggles, doing the best we can while being short staffed as well.

There are so many questions without answers right now but this too shall pass. Hopefully we are all OK on the other side of it.

I wish you well with the weekend.

Keep in mind.. the original Beatles used synthesizers..
Also, they all used the Vox Super Beatle amps... and even Paul's bass was a Hoffman..

Fab Four opens with an Ed Sullivan... and goes all through their days from start to finish,
with different wardrobe changes to reflect the era..

To be clear.. this is not meant to say one is better than another,
only adding to what they actually do for the show.. they are all EXCELLENT!

Does it do okay in the heavy snow?
The one I have, is actually a trifold. you loosen 2 clamps in the back,
and just fold it twice toward the front. 30 seconds tops.
More often than not, I do not need the whole bed,
so it works out fine.. 90% of the time.
