We've got one that's destroyed and/or mangled ours about once a year at least. Holly treed it last year or the year before. I go out because she's barking, unusual for her. Let her off her run (cable) and she goes out into the yard barking. I hear the bear chuffing and clicking its jaws. I hollered at Holly and got her in the house. Went out with the flashlight and rifle. See it coming down out of the maple. Silly me, I put a round in the tree below it in order to scare it.. It goes back up the tree.. I decide the heck with it, go back in the house and let it wander off. Couldn't actually shoot it without potential fines.
Poor little fella.....he's just trying to make a living too! A cousin I had would battle against racoons invading his garden and fruit trees. He told me he tried this and that and the other thing but they kept outsmarting him. I asked, why not just end the problem and shoot them? He answered, it's more of a personal challenge to try to thwart them! He was a nice guy, died of agent orange complications......
Thanks guys!! Nice clear full moon morning and now the suns burning bright should be a good day!! Although wishin’ I was fishing or cutting wood....
Hey Pallet Pete . Time for me to finally try out that new Craftsman Make sure everything is good before I give it to my 16 y.o. son. I’ll tell him it’s his. He will like that it is his first chainsaw. Seems to cut nicely. Cut up that small Ash, the small dead Elm in front, and some of that brush to the left of the Maples.
Happy birthday J. Dirt and swags! It's in the upper 60's already here. Supposed to get to 70°, then storms tonight.
Well Pallet Pete . The Craftsman worked for about 25 minutes of cutting and then quit. Wouldn’t get any fuel. Looks like it sat in the box so long the fuel line dried up and it cracked after just a little use. This larger piece was in a lot better shape than the bunch of little pieces that just fell apart. I’ll take it over to the shop and have them put new fuel lines in it. I have another problem with another saw so I will get two birds with one stone/shop visit.
Still nice Allan. I even got out yesterday and tried to do some stacking. I didn't get much more than that done but it just felt good to be trying it at least.
Nice. They say 65 for us but it does not look like we'll get there. Temperature has hardly raised and it is cloudy. If sun comes out maybe we'll get there later though.
That's been one of the biggest issues I have had with my Craftsman/Poulan Pro saws...cracked fuel line in the tank...make sure they replace with a quality line that is ethanol resistant...if they use elcheapo line it wont even last the summer if you use E10 in your saws...E free gas solves that problem though too...
