New toy: 60v Dewalt with 16" bar.

Pulled it out again this morning for a small job on remains of a crab apple tree. It is quiet which is nice for early morning work around the house.

It seems to work well. I ran it about hour off and on yesterday and this small job this morning. It is still on 3 bars.

I was at Lowes yesterday and the clearance rack had a couple of battery saws, bare tool only no batteries or charger. Of course i picked them up to see the weight. Price was too high for my liking and something id seldom use.
Seems handy for small quick jobs and no fuel cost! How many batteries do you have for it hovlandhomestead ?

I’m liking mine so far but really haven’t used it a lot.

The battery powered stuff has come a LONG way. Gone are the days of the weak, 2 minute power tools. I don’t have a battery powered chainsaw. But I do have a lithium ion powered Milwaukee reciprocating saw. That thing will put in some WORK!! I can’t believe I used to drag an extension cord all over the place to use my old one.

I bought a teal one a few years ago (2017 I think?) just to throw on the wheeler and use to clear the trail and maybe limbing some falls. I absolutely love it. I cannot believe the power and how long the battery lasts. First use was on a large yard maple I took down for a neighbor and I thought the batteries would be dead when I got through limbing just one branch. The batteries last long enough that if I have enough with me and an outlet to charge the others are charged before Im done with the first. Now I havent used it all that much but have continued on from limbing to bucking on branches that are up to 6" diameters and have never been want for more battery which is not how I expected this saw to act. That said its not going to replace a stihl yet but I was more than impressed with what I got.

I bought a Ryobi one a year or so ago. It works great on small jobs...its light, cuts well, and very quiet. I recommend them

The battery and charger can run 2×the cost of the tool

Our first Lithium battery saw was a Yardworks - a real disappointment as it only lasted one chain.

In 2012 we bought a Sthil MSA 160. It has really impressed me with no problems and it's on its 6th or 7th chain.

A few years back, we had some hot dry weather with a high fire hazard so I took it scouting for wood with the smallest battery AP 160. I could have bucked the small log I'm cutting on. Woodwidow also likes it for brush cutting and pruning!

Yes, campinspecter is right in that I really like it for garden projects. I will have to get some protective gear though if I am going to use it more.

It’s hard to find small chaps for women. These are the smallest I could find

I have cut over 5 cords in a year with the Makita 14" battery chainsaw. I carry four Makita 5 amp-hr battery pairs, Makita's system, which can cut up to 2000 pounds of firewood rounds (20" length), enough for a 1/2 ton truck load. No going back to gasoline for me.

I’ve got the 18v brushless I take camping. It’s a great little saw. I cut two stacks of that size with one 6ah battery.

I used an electric saw when I was in my early teens. Never tried the battery though. If it works for you I say
