I almost forgot...I will work on putting something up a little later . Now I have to remember what thread to put a picture or two in. Maybe I'll have to start a new thread about battery powered chainsaws so we can compare notes on this technology. So far I have added a lithium battery powered ice auger (Ion X) and weed whacker (Huskqvarna). Both have been very good. In fact I sold off my gas auger and gave my gas trimmer to my son-in-law. But there is no way the new cordless chainsaw will displace the roles for my three gas chain saws.
Good idea. Maybe make it an all inclusive battery powered power tools thread? Since a lot of tools going to batteries now-a-days.
I finally finished splitting all of my oak today. Now I just need to work on my least favorite part....stacking. My hair was a gigantic mess, so I ordered a pair of clippers and had at it. Not sure if a neighbor drove by and got to see me in the side yard using my reflection in a window to do the heavy cutting.
Unfortunately the testing process isn't wide spread enough. Once they get the tests free and available to everyone, then we'll know more.
This bigger leaner didn’t turn out too bad. The wagon load ended up being mostly dead Elm but had some small Ash in there as well.
I really like my Dewalt chainsaw...My buddy has one too... Especially since I've got three batteries... I bought the big weed whacker too... It takes two batteries to do the yard.
You must have a much bigger yard than ours Chvymn99. I think I charged my huskqvara weed whacker 2 or 3 times all summer.
My family won't allow me to be on a ladder. consequences is endless nagging, plus who knows what else might happen. My balance isn't great. I would hate to hear you had an avoidable accident that took you off your feet etc. It happened to me just going down the stairs in my house. I just let the kids know what help I need. Usually they will get around to it when time opens up for them. .
They all worry when I get up on a step stool. While disconnecting the flue at the ceiling to do a cleaning I lost my balance on the step stool this past fall. Luckily the couch was there. You should see the looks I get if I go to get the ladder.
Below freezing again this morning. We went for a drive following the advice from a friend. campinspecter is headed out for firewood this morning. He can't decide whether he will be getting fir or hemlock. The hemlock pile is easier to get at. He will decide when he gets out there.
Some more trail work done today. Time to call it quits and head off to the enjoyment center for a little bit. Managed to get back to a clump of soft Maple in the distance there. Thought about firewood. But I’ll leave them and let them continue to seed the property. Take the Ash and standing dead Elm instead.
Nice day here too. I am going on my second round with the All American 921 canner's maiden run. 14 pints of pike. The second batch going here is 4 more pints of pike and 2 rabbit.
