Just finished our splitting for next year! Kids still need to stack up the overflow (stuff for the year after next) behind the garage. Next up--that extra truckload I gave to Dad, then sending the splitter over to Singetreu's.
Yep, 15-16 done. We are burning the scraps that accumulated under the splitter in a celebratory fashion!
Nice work! It is a good feeling knowing you are done and how far ahead your inventory is. But, as scrounging hoarders that we are, done is never done when the phone rings.
And just in time for summer to help out the drying process. Good Job there, now go soak up that A/C....
Haven't put any in yet-- it hasn't been that bad this year, only up to four hot days in a row, we've kept the house fairly cool.
Everything is all stacked up now, life is great! I think Wednesday night we will get Mom and Dad's stuff split. I might take down a dead mulberry branch for my elderly neighbors before then and get that processed quick.

I used to be that far ahead... before shooting time took up my cutting time lol. Last winter put a much larger dent in my supply than I planned too :/
Just to follow up, I did take down that dead branch last night-- got I wanna say 8 small rounds and 5 bigger ones that actually needed split. It was a nice little exercise. We are planning to get all of Dad's splitting done tonight and then I am on a vacation from processing firewood for the rest of the summer. So starting Thursday I will be working on the truck-- to get those plugs out safely and replace the coil packs when they show up Monday. Then build a BBQ grill. A hoarders work is never done!
