I thought the same until this afternoon. The shelves in the beer aisle of the local Hannaford were half empty.o_O

Soooo, place I picked up lunch at on Monday closed around 1 yesterday. Take out only, call in, give credit card over phone and then call when you get there so they bring it out to you.

Checked today to see if open-nope, one of the employees had to be tested so they closed for a week or until the test comes back. Will re open if negative.

At least they are being responsible as they actually do not have to close until someone test positive.

The genie is out of the bottle folks and it looks like we are going to have to ride this out-hope the best for everyone to stay healthy

Was just at the local supermarket I use (Harris Teeter)...Beer & wine was full....as a matter of fact, they had a big wine sale going on....a lot of carts just had wine and/or beer in them. If you're going to be stuck in the house for an extended stay, you might as well be happy. The people on line and I were chatting about it, and all had a good laugh. :D

since most of our customers are closed, and our construction jobs (Greenwich, CT, Wallingford and Fairfield) shut till this is over I took a day to continue work on the repair shop at the Farm.

Needed to install a 10" X 10" oak post to replace a rotted telephone pole that supported the building. I had installed a temp port (a few years ago!) to support the building.
So we added another jacking point and raised it off the pole, cut the pole and removed it. poured concrete in the hole and a 24" pad on the 6" concrete floor.

now a 7.25 inch skill saw will cut maybe 2.75" deep and the post was 10". time to buy this bad boy as I need it for 16 posts for the Pavillion project.

Studies have shown that 100% of stores go out of business in the first year when it becomes illegal to go to them.

Princess was on the treadmill this morning when she heard some scratching noises coming from the Harman stove which was off. It sounds like it's coming from the vent! Something there for sure, stove is vented into a 7" wood chimney with about 24' height. Can it be a mouse? how long has it been there? Went outside to remove the ash trap cover, ashes started to flow out and all of a sudden a black thing whooshes out with a trail of ashy dust following it :startled:
Turned out to be a starling type of bird, first time this happens in 29 yrs of living here
Did a LBT on the Fahrenheit while the weather was nice and sunny, slow meltdown with the first robin back from the south :vulture:
    SPRING has arrived :dennis:

Youngest son works as a butcher at a local medium sized market and he scored a 4 pack of t- paper yesterday. I tried not to hoard a few weeks ago and now we are running a bit low. Our local supermarket has had none for better than a week. Wifey checked another market earlier in the week and notta piece to be found. 2 different dollar stores yesterday had none and were talking about middle of next week for possible deliveries.
I have been working my regular 12.5 hour 3 on 4off overnight schedule and I hear the day crew will be changing to a 12 hour shift now too. I am by myself in about 4.000,000 sq. ft facility so hopefully I'm gonna be alright. Most people are working from home and only manufacturing and few others are in the plant. One phone company guy and 2 cleaners have contacted carona and have been in the plant. Now finally they have put a flimsy plan together and are testing some peoples temperatures when they come through the door. No gloves or masks for maintenance, and only after yelling and screaming did we get hand sanitizer. I bought my own in, and some wipes also. Glad I'm overnight when very few are there.
Wife is working part time now delivering drugs to state rum homes. They closed the store part of the pharmacy due to too many arguments and rude/nasty people pizzed off due to lack of cleaning supplies, t-paper and such.
My back has been bothering me a bit the last week so taking it slow. Serviced the Roadking and fourwheeler, fixed some lights in the garage, hunkering down best we can.
    Really, really missing our Grandkids.
    Stay safe folks.

    Doggy

Wife and I are still working. She's a vet tech and luckily they are in a somewhat lock down where no people are allowed in the clinic. They have to go outside and get the pets from the owners(double leash hand off or carrier). Mostly only doing emergency or ill pets. No minor stuff like yearly check ups ect.

Me on the other hand have had 2 scares so far. A member of the second shift crew had symptoms and was sent home. we deloused the shop ect ect. He was quarantined for 14 days. Turned out to be no covid 19. Second scare was yesterday where a lady from day shift was sent to the walk in from work. She likely does have it and we went into lock down. Full factory wide delouse and anyone who sat or worked near her was also sent home. 4 people were given 5 days off in total.

Half the plant took vacation time for today, We are in limited production(hand soap/lotion line and sanitizer dispensers) and doing hourly walk abouts to sanitizing hard surfaces people are touching(door handles, time clock- ect). We also have the plant shutdown with a professional cleaning service coming tomorrow to do a full clean and plant wide fog.............

Chits getting to real for me, But I gotta be here today! May take monday off to think about this chit!! No likeky at all!!
