Moved all of the last of the wood from the barn to the porch and hoping it will be the last that gets moved until September. However, if this spring turns out like last year, it won't be enough.
Your yard cart beats mine, easily. We'll keep burning if there's a chill. Still going 24hrs here with burning. We've been cracking open windows during the day, just to let fresh air in. So, still a small fire in stove during the day. Good way for me to burn up that stinky yellow poplar I have for shoulder season. Poplar by day, oak by night.
Sounds like a FHC superhero! Faster than a racing chain saw, more powerful than a ported 880, able to leap tall redwoods in a single bound! Well Backwoods Savage at least it'll be easy to move wood from the stacks to the porch with the tractor if needed!
Hope it is the last for you to move Dennis. Seems easy with a tractor but if you are all stove up it can be an ordeal! A few days ago I pulled a muscle under my shoulder working with those big Fir rounds. I still have to get the wood loaded and home, Just loading the trailer will be a pain. With neck problems it must be hugely worse! Big pain right where you live that you can't get away from. As much as we like to burn, I hope it is your last shuffle until you get overhauled!
I've been letting the fire go out. Miss July keeps firing it back up about every 36 hours. Supposed to be 50's and 60's next ten days. Won't need much heat here.
sorry to hear of your injury Russ. Hope you heal quickly and are back to your "old" wood hoarding self in no time! I feel for ya on the injuries and having to still work wood. Best wishes my friend!
I have a little under a quarter of a cord left on the porch. I'm loading the stove about 3/4 full once a day with ash at this point. Its constantly on the low 60's when I wake up. If it doesnt warm up, this may not be enough. Time will tell though!
LOL... I replaced the old RAM last fall. I figured I'd let the next guy shine up the bumper... I didn't even charge him extra for the birds' nests in the gaping fender holes. The only thing holding the left side of the bed from falling over was keeping the tailgate shut so I had to start looking for another wood cutting truck. It was a nice running truck and always started and ran down the road real nice, but the bed was just getting to where loading it up with wood was getting precarious and I wasn't sure when the wood was gonna start dropping out the bottom... I had to quit using the real trailer hitch a few years back when I stepped up on the tongue of the wood splitter to get to the other side and the hitch bent down to the ground. I put a ball in the bumper and kept splitting. I ended up selling it for a hundred bucks less than I paid for it after driving it 6 years. I was able to get a great deal on the F-250 we had at work that we had used to plow the parking lot. It had belonged to a big IH farm dealer before that and the bed got pretty beat up, but I don't buy a truck for good looks... LOL
I sure hope that shoulder heals quickly. As for me getting overhauled, it is not going to happen for a while. We were told surgeries have been postponed for at least 45 days.
Thanks Brad. Not as bad as it sounds. The Wif has been giving me Icy Hot massages (On my Shoulder! Don't go there Boys!) and it helps a lot. I'll get the firewood job done. Just not as much fun as usual.
