So the washer that was on the saw isnt flat, might look that way in the pic. But it is "flatter" than the one with the new sprocket. The old one is i guess saucer shaped, for lack of better description. You can see the "hump" in the new one if you zoom in on the pic.
Did you buy the saw new or used? If used possible someone put a different washer on it just to "work". I Did find 1 old parts saw that had a flat washer on it. A 042 from back in the 70's.
I bought the saw new, probaby in 2002 or 03. I usually dont do saw mechanic-ing What work that has been done is by saw shop, but i don't think/remember any work of this nature happening before..
I put the old parts back on, but will pull back off and try to take a pic of the washer at an angle thats shows the curvature....
