Purchased a woodmiser LT15 in the spring, making progress on a shed to house said sawmill. All lumber has been milled by this sawmill. Hoping to get metal roof on during the holidays.
Nice sawmill, and nice sawmill building! (You really cannot go wrong with a Woodmizer, about as good of a company (Christian-Based) as their sawmills).
Very nice, one of my favorites. Do they let you use that there or did this building not require a permit. My woodshed looks much like your building. I just installed the red oak siding we cut on a buddies mill mill two yrs ago. I also found a bit of rusted steel for the roof, I like the look.
Yes I did get a permit. The county we live in is not as strict. Here is a pic of the other building I built last year. I have about 150 more sheets of this rusty metal I am going to put on the mill.
That's great, especially since the locust is probably better anyway. I like that look a lot. I looked for a long time for that same type as that's what I have on my shed and the kids playhouse but I couldn't find any. Our town was having a trash day and I did a material swap for this stuff lol. I still need to do the ridge cap, I'll just cut a bit off either side of the middle raised portion of these sheets and it should work well, a short rip of the type of metal you have works great for cap.
Going to be a nice looking building. Please keep posting pics. Welcome to the site, Lots of sawyers here!
Just a update on my building project. Was able to get roof on before winter set in. Slow but getting it done.
That looks great. I wanted that steel on mine, it's what I have on my other little buildings, couldn't find any that was used up here.
Very nice indeed WH. Couple of Q's: Did you draw up plans yourself or doing this out of your head? Also, is the lumber green or has it been dried to some degree? And one more, what type of wood did you mill for the framing lumber?
Update on the mill shed. Not much but every little bit helps. Was able to get some tin up over the weekend. Hope to get more done soon.
I am familiar with those kinds of plans I used to use that method myself but with all the rain in SE PA anymore the mud made it harder I have moved on to crayons on bar oil boxes The building looks good it would be nice to have a flat area around the whole building mine is in a hill I have a boulder wall on the back side of course it is not finished yet I have to finish wall on back side tarps have been there 4 years now maybe this yearI will get some time JB
