Traffic has been greatly reduced on our road.
Instead of the usual 4, we've only had 1 the last couple days. This doesn't include the Fedex and mail deliveries.
I swear, our front porch is starting to look like a Wally's warehouse.

As I fired up the OWB last night, I realized that the usual sound form the highway was almost absent. I only heard what I thought to be a couple of trucks....which is normally only what you would hear anyway. (Its about 3/4 mile away if you can fly.) Keep in mind that I was outside for less than 5 minutes also.

Even during the 911 days, it seemed the only thing missing was the airline traffic for a few days.

Not here...we live on a busy county road and while the "rush hour" traffic is certainly greatly reduced, traffic throughout the day is still surprisingly busy

I still hear a few log trucks jingling by, like at 3 am, the trailer chains are rattling, a few chip trucks are still running. During the day, the post office parking lot is kind of full, but, not really. People have pretty much settled in around where we live.

Saw one pickup early this morning but couldn't read the logo, Fedex truck turned around in our drive:ups:(I know, wrong truck), then neighbor drove by about 10 minutes ago. He hasn't come back yet, unless he did from the other direction. I hope the zombies didn't get him. :picard:
I can hear traffic just up the road on M-33, but it's sparse. Didn't hear much of anything yesterday, but the saw was running, so.............:dex::D
Wife went up to the clinic to pick up a couple scripts, and someone came out to the truck on passenger side.
Sign on the door said to not go inside. However, Dr., nurse, etc. parking lot was full.
I may go out and cut some more today, then hit the shop for a bit. I could always paint the living room ceiling with a 2nd coat and watch it dry.:dancer:

I read this morning that the State Police is considering cracking down on people driving around. That is probably the only way it will get stopped. People just don't like to listen...

I don't know what law they would use for the stop and questioning. That's our 4th amendment protection.

It would be an interesting line to cross for them.

States restrcit driving ahead of, during and post snow events by declaring emergencies all the time.
It's one way around federal commerce laws that disallow restrictions of access to public roads.
States can close their borders and set up check points and could easily ascertain you came from area X and therefore you have to be quarantined for x period of time before being allowed into the state. Or take your temperature, etc, ...
It can be done, but what conditions would warrant the expenditure of those sort of resources ?
Regarding the 4th amendment (potentially) possessing a communicable disease wouldn't be an unreasonable search. There isn't always a fine and definitive line between reasonable and unreasonable.

You might as well make it "The Full MEAL DEAL" and spit on him too, that way you might end up going to the trauma center instead.........................

One of our past commissioners in the county said he would call the limited driving thing (can't remember the correct term) due to getting federal money. Sounded like a shell game to me.

What people need to remember, it is killing people. When it kills one of mine that is to many. Are we being trained to be subservient sheep? I don't know, but I have gotten old enough to follow these rules.. My youngest daughter is a pharmacy tech. She keeps reminding people that if their child regardless of age needs to be admitted, no one from the family can be in the hospital. Here, EMT's will pick up your child, transfer to a hospital, the child will be admitted and cared for without family present. That scares the $hit out of me!

My wife and I, this is normal life except for the lack of traffic. You all be safe and healthy.

Not Michigan but we have a stay at home order here. Got up, listened to the lack of traffic, started the coffee, started a fire. Poured the coffee and read for a bit by the fire. Wif got up and made breakfast. We had our usual morning chat by the fire after breakfast. I repaired a couple of items at the work bench then reloaded the wheelbarrow with wood and split up a bucket of kindling. Checked out what was shaking on FHC then did some metal design work on the computer. Tried to finagle the wife into the bedroom but she was having none of that! Washed the truck then had dinner, back on the computer. Maybe watch a little TV then bedtime. I may take up drinking.

    Day 3

Checked outside and was glad to see that there was no rain or snow that had accumulated. Also, no unexplained and suspicious vehicles with satellite antennas on their roofs. Carefully decided to turn on one light and make a pot of coffee. Made a quick perimeter patrol without the use of artificial lights and found all clear.

During the day, I applied "oil-finish-wax" to my Filson jacket, it had been needing some for awhile. What a job that turned out to be!

Got one bad news phone call today. Was supposed to get another phone call today with good news, but I think they must have forgotten.

Had one good news phone call yesterday.

Getting more and more used to the stay at home since I practiced social distancing before it was cool! :handshake:
