My bad i was thinking Samaras, the things on maple trees also called helicopters by every kid. The white oak thingies are Catkins, and they get clogged in the pool skimmer, all over the deck and pool. So annoying!!! upload_2020-3-16_7-11-2.jpeg

Yeah, the annoying oak worms! I bet the maple helicopters would be better than the oak worms, especially when it involves a pool!

Great site to set up and process wood!

Maple helicopters SUCK in the pool. Especially when you have 2 huge trees contributing. If I didn't value their shade so much... :saw:

All these years and I don't think I ever realized those dropped from the oaks. I get drifts of them along the edge of the driveway. Now I know where they come from.

His son is out of school, I think he lets his son use his phone for games, while his wife is studying. That's my guess, anyway.

Yeah if it's not the flowers in the Spring it's the acorns in the Fall.
They can be nice looking trees though if they grew in the open with no competition.

Elm seeds by the billions = hundreds of seedlings come mid-summer. And that’s just on my 1/5 acre city lot. :hair:
