In times like these it is important to distract oneself and let your guard down occasionally. Step out and feel the sun on your face, listen to the birds, let your granddaughter push you into the snow, or shovel the snow off the patio and light the fire pit up with some standing dead you scored off of a new scrounge site you got permission to raid last week. Sit silently and talk to the almighty, or listen to your partner while they shed a tear about the worries they keep inside. Lets hear and see how or what we are doing to keep our batteries energized because you never know when it is that little break you give yourself that may steel your will or that neighbor you told "if you need anything" because they might just need a shoulder to lean on but never ask that gives you a hand when you need it the most. What are we doing for that little break when Nothing Else Matters? Extra credit if you know what band I stole the title from.
I trust in the Almighty. God always has the best in mind for his children. He is sovereign and I trust in him for the outcome. Tis easy to say, but not always so easy to live out my faith. Times like these are telling. I keep in mind that He is stronger than anything else I will ever encounter. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
Folks talking about "cabin fever". Took a walk yesterday, cut some wood, went out to the shop. Back in the house and I'm too tired to have that.
I wish there was time for reflection and down time. Things have picked up in the last 2 weeks since this all started . Luckily it’s a no face to face contact transaction .
Tonight's nothing else matters was my first splitting session of the year with my maul. Between 1/2 and 3/4 of a cord. Great distraction, and man do I need to be sure to work back into things gradually as winter wimped up my splitting muscles. The number one cause of injury to old men is thinking they are still young.
I talk to God as well, i pray that this will come to a close. That's the first thing i do. Some times during the day, night, or, when ever. It's out of my hands, but, i try to keep busy as well. Cleaning up my saw's getting a small garden spot ready, Taking a short drive to see whats , what. I do go out during the day, or night just check out the flowers, birds, etc, etc, take the dog out, and helping my wife clean the house. The dog is good about getting me out of the house,as well. lol.
Lastnight's Nothing Else Matters after a busy day at work was to sit out on the front step with Mama Bear. We had the sun on our faces listening to geese flying back north and we cracked the first jars of moonshine open that we have been aging. It was my first try and I'd say it's a do it again! one batch strawberry and the other peach pie.
