2 basements flooded, could not see the yard, deep enough for Lucy to take a swim.
No pics, was too busy trying to stay ahead of the water coming into my basement.
Lowes 6am to buy a second pump.
saved mine, the rehab total loss of everything in basement all new equipment . 4 feet deep. pumped out dry now.
    oh well just another day.

The two have nothing to do with each other.
Maybe explain to those of us who are unmedicated how these are related in any way shape or form.

I would get that basement as hot as possible to dry it out. Good luck

I know I am going to move the furnace and water heater upstairs into the addition, leaves nothing in the basement. I am also considering filling in the basement and capping it to make a crawl space out of it, it is unusable as is.

Is it too late to start building an ark?

Flooding sucks. That's why one requirement when we bought our house, was that it would be on high ground.

The house we rented had two supposedly " hundred year floods" in 4 years. Yeah, our house we bought is up on a hill thank you.

Are you abandoning the basement because of it flooding after over 5" of rain ? I'm thinking that would tank a lot of basements even those on a moderate hill.

really long story as to why, but yes. this is one of my restorations and I could not leave the mechanicals in the basement knowing this will happen again. I will lose minimal space in the very large addition that was added. I have added a laundry room and bathroom in the addition and still have a "nook" big enough for mechanicals.

Sorry that it happened, sounds like a mess... Do you know why this happened? Any history of such a disaster prior?
