Glad you're feeling better, Mike! Don't want the "First FHC Coronavirus Victim" bragging rights?
Hope the missus gets better, too, and you can both enjoy the warm temps we have coming.

Thanks. I wouldn't wish that distinction on anyone.

I was finally feeling good enough to cut and move another load this morning.

Not wanting a relapse of my cold, I'm done for today.

Friday is a rain day here. So, I'm hoping to return with my friend and his pickup on Saturday.

I noodled down a couple of inches and wedge/sledged some thick rounds.

I use the pictures from my phone to date my stacks. Every time I add, the picture date and time stamps the shot.

It's not a matter of if, but when, before your phone breaks.

Whatever works best for folks, is what folks do.

I was able to go back today with my friend and his pickup. We got it all.

I'm glad I was able to split and stack a face cord during the week. The space was needed.

I don't think I've had as much wood in my "temp" storage area, than I have right now.

Well..... there are the 2 maples and a hickory that are dying from the top, here onsite. They take up less space while still standing.

Those will rise on the list once I get this stuff css'd.

And... some black locust I need to see if they leaf out or not,

And... a red oak leaner at my folks place.

And.... more red oak at my SIL's, once she decides it's time for them to come down.

I'm sure I've forgotten a tree or three.

I've been to WeldrDave's new property twice last year. In August and again in October. It's a two hour drive for me, one way. In October, I brought back some sugar maple. Half a face cord.

I know he's hoping to get back there sometime in April. I'm not sure if a date has been settled on. I know a couple of dates were being tossed around.

I'd hate to see that wood be consumed by ants and such.

Because it's the same tree service, I'll use this thread.

They are cutting/clearing utility lines, right across the street from us.
    IMG_20200318_181648990.jpg

I approached them this morning, telling them if they wanted to dump the logs here, to go ahead.

The guy I talked to came to the house a couple hours later to understand specifically where I wanted them.

So, later today, tommorow? Fingers crossed.

Oh, just my luck - red oak. I guess it's ok.

Wow, a delivery! Asplundh would never do that. You were lucky it was a local tree service.
This time you won't have to hike it over a stone wall!

I didn't have the heart to ask them to cut it to length.

I did tell them that if they had any more, to stack it up!

I'm guessing, maybe a cord. Just shy, anyway.
