BIG WOOD thread

Post pics of the biggest wood you've tackled...

I don't have pics of all the bigguns, but here are a few honorable mentions...

 

37" white oak i felled and processed.
36" ash from January
36" oak i just cut Sunday
Ive never had to cut from both sides with the 36" bar. Had the opportunity to buck this 44" log (one with the half black end), but had no way to move it.

 

48 inch at the stump oak

 

From about 2 yrs ago -



I got an assist from M2theB with bucking them down to size that I could split. His assist I remain very grateful for.

 

2 truck fills of 32-38” oak rounds. All split by hand. 5 guys. 3 hours. 2 1/2 cords of splits.

33 inch Ash
52 inch red oak

Big enough for me.
Got 40 splits per round. About 5 rounds in per load.

 

Here's a pretty large Ponderosa that PG&E took down in my yard.

My Sweet Wife is always afraid the Trees Service will drop off things that will require me to buy a bigger saw. Honestly,, I hope he does

Swallowed up a 42" bar pretty quick.


And recently James Millers elephant oak.

 

I don’t get many big ones but every once in awhile it’s machine only.

 

White oak blow over. Got 15 rounds this size.
