So a short while ago I bought a pair of raw denim jeans. They didn't have the 'stonewashed' ones I usually get so I got one pair of raw and one pair of 'heavily stonewashed'. Now that warmer weather has set in and I'm not wearing thermals these things are staining my legs blue, especially my knees. Taking a shower is kinda freaky. These things are bad. Short of tossing them, the google says adding vinegar to a bucket of water might set the dye. I'll probably try it anyway leaving the bucket in the sun just to try something but if there's a better solution I'll try that.
Yeah, that's what the ladies say . Twice so far and still bleeding like mad. Truth be told, I only own two pair of denim jeans and one will be soaked in/sprayed with permethrin so maybe I'll do that at the same time. They're not designer anything, just $24 blue jeans. Very blue.
While on the ship, when some guys got new dungarees, they would tie them off and drag them behind the ship while we were underway.
I’ll second running them through the wash a few more times. I just went through that with some Wranglers.
That's what these are. "Premium Quality" , "Comfort Guaranteed" Hecho en Mexico rinse water must cost more than the dye they could recover from a rinse or two.
Sounds like Mfgs have found a way to save a few more pennies at the customers expense. Never had a pair of Wranglers that did that, or any other I can remember. I buy the cheapest one I can find most of the time as I wear them out kinda quick thigh and knees. Most of them mostly say pre shrunk- perhaps that has a bearing on it. I wonder if something didn't just slip through the system? Many eons ago one could always rely on jeans needing to be washed at least once prior to wearing and in fact was recommended by the mfgs. I have experienced the dye transfer of wet clothes - back in the day you always separated colors from whites or risked getting tie died whites or if you got wet - skin.
