Seeing sirbuildalots recent thread plus Midwinter has been encouraging me to use a hand truck i decided to give it a try today at my locust score. Dug out my beat up one i rarely use.
Wood was 50 yards from the road, half of it through the woods. Bucked the wood into 4' sections, propped on end and used a bungee to hold it in place. Then cut to finished length by the truck. Worked pretty good, save for the squeaky wheels which sounded like a Sherman tank coming through the woods and one grape vine that snagged the wheels a few times. Smaller rigid, non pnuematic wheels. Saved me from making multiple trips one log at a time. I guess you can teach an old hoarder new tricks! Thanks guys! IMG_1997.JPG

That handtruck does look like a relic, but it goes to show how useful they are!

It might go back to the Carter administration, but worked okay. I scrounged it for free somewheres. It also converts to a flatbed type with an extra pair of casters. The only thing i would change to is pneumatic tires.
