Of course my phone died. I split a half cord of big pine. I couldnt help but think of Backwoods Savage while i was sitting on a stump splitting vertical. Thats the mist vertical splitting iv ever done. I always muscle them up there but these were huge. I hope to get some pics tomorrow.
Customer Txt this am- This year can you bring me 10 cord of hardwood and 4 cord of pine? Ill use what is in the red house for indoors so anything you cut will be for the beast. I’ll work on cutting my pine. I know mine is still wet but if I get it split and stacked it will dry by fall - - oh boy wheres the Mason Hillbilly Firewood company Christmas party gonna be.
Nice order! Keep it up and we'll convert you to all vertical splitting then you can also rest that saw rather than the wear and tear of noodling. I have never noodled nor do I ever plan on it. Guess I'm weird in many peoples books (that's okay with me) by splitting as God intended and splitting rather than noodling.
You'll be busy all summer vacation! Do you have to do a little building maintenance at the school over the summer?
I never noodled either, i always use a maul because i do feel theres more wear on the chain and saw. But it’s actually been s time saver a couple times when im on the side of the road sometimes. That pine was huge a knotty too
That’s usually when I call upon the splitter, mauls bounce off. As long as it works for you to get thing down to the size you want it, it’ll work. Sounds like you are even busier than I thought but you love doing what you do.
Bungee on the little electric pole saw to make my mini processor. I took alot of smaller stuff out because i cant stand wasting the little guys. Working on quarry logs from September/October. Some guys might call them seasoned logs
I gotta fabricate a rig like that as I leave a lot of those behind because they are so time consuming to work with a gas saw in the woods. I'll find some in the stacks that were chest height and easy to cut at the time and they always burn fairly well and are a good fit in the small stove.
Iv got three year old rounds and i put them in the back of the stove, they burn long. Usually dont split the ones that are about the size of large pvc pipe 6”???
