Just got back from my annual physical. Gawd, ain't that fun... Looks like you guys are gonna hafta put up with me fer a while longer... ;) I'd lost about 10 lbs since last year (too heavy still) and I told the Doc about my firewood obsession... he said, Great, that's good exercise and you like to do it.

Today I started early. Painted a small section of fence and a new gate that separates the garage from the house. Later on I can reassemble the the swing gate (and hope this winters winds won't blow it up again)
And now I'm cutting the shrubs and bushes on the front of the house. Can't pass up a day to be outdoors on a day like today. It's 78 and a bit muggy right now, calling for passing boomers later.

Well, it happened. A little behind schedule, but summer finally showed up. The past two mornings it has been in the upper 70's on the way to work, 85 by lunch, and lower 90's on the way home. Dew point is low-mid 70's which makes it really uncomfortable outside.

I tilled and hoed in the garden for about 1.5 hours last night and it was miserable.

Got the corner and gate posts all planted so now I can spend some money on fencing to keep various critters out of the garden. Didn't plan on doing this right now had the old plastic fencing standing up again, the boss decided it was going to go, I was planning on fixing things in the garage and the pellet eater. Can't win.

I've noticed the wild strawberries are ripening so strawberry season is fast approaching. Will have to do some strawberry rhubarb jam for the larder. Already have the rhubarb in the freezer for it and a rhubarb pie in the fridge, still plenty in the garden.

We'll we drove in through some awful weather this morning. At 4:30 it was so bad the whole house was shaking nonstop... At 5:30 I was all black sky with some serious lightning every few seconds. We left at 5:27 and drove through such heavy rain we had to pull off twice. I'm just hoping my plants and veggies outside didn't wash away! My garag is totally flooded right now under 3" of water... What a pita! A friend stoped out to drop off some tools he borrowed and picked up all my soaking items on the floor as well as a bucket of newly ordered chains that are totally soaked.

Usually the time around July 4th is strawberry season, my son said it was almost over where he is as well. He didn't even try to get any this year. He'll have some when he comes to camp for July.

Well went to Home Depot and got some fencing after the little one was picked up by mommy. I'll pick away at it around the normal things like haying the fields (mowing the lawns) and stuff that just seems to pop up.

We had a really short season this year, just wrapping up now. They are called June bearing strawberries. Mulberrys are getting close, through.

Picked some wild raspberries tonight. A couple pints.

Getting ready to sit down and enjoy some vino with the wife.
