Here is what's left of my 20 cu ft wood hauler box after a "slight" mishap with a small Hickory tree. The tree lifted and turned 90 degrees while cutting and ended up falling 90 degrees to where i wanted it. Right on top of the trailer. Surprising what a small Hickory tree can do. I have since replaced it with a similar trailer.
It only hurts for a bit... and a whole lot less than if it fell on you. Trees seem to have a mind of their own sometimes, for sure...
Yesterday’s haul with the wife’s rig. For whatever reason the trailer plug adapter on my pickup wasn’t wanting to work of course it was just fine later. Maybe the wife just wanted to take the ‘nice’ truck
I'm still making trails out of goat paths so I can't use anything too big. This unit has a winched swing beam for loading large rounds and dumping the box. There's two pins to remove the cargo box, then insert log staves, extend the outriggers and the swing winch will load 400 lbs. logs. The walking beam makes it a breeze to handle deep ruts and climbing over obstacles when needed. Even with a full trailer load and the UTV box loaded, the Kawasaki Mule has pulled this load up some pretty steep terrain.
Some random pics from the last time I was able to cut and split wood. It's been a few weeks. Had to go out of town, take care of my son one weekend and had class the last two weekends.
