33 and 78. Beautiful spring day yesterday close to 50, no sun today but lower 40’s still. Big mess coming Thursday with a lot of guesses about the rain/snow line location. An inch of rain for some, foot of snow for others with varying amounts of slush in the middle. Kinda like a sh*t sandwich. Frost heave season has begun and mud season isn’t far behind.
Stayed cloudy all day yesterday. Cloudy again today but colder. 33 outside now. Got to 44 yesterday. Winter storm watch still posted. It is funny how the predictions change at least 3 times each day and many times more often. We've been forecast to get from 2" up to 12". Guess we'll wait and see what happens and deal with it then.
Right around 30 ish today but felt like the teens since the sun went back into hibernation. Next 2-3 days teens will be the high.
36 and 78. I just shoveled a little ash and I’ll add a couple sticks once it cools down a bit more. Another warm dreary day in store. They’re still guessing about the rain snow line for tomorrow and they’ve added high wind warnings with likely power outages. Sounds like fun I’m hoping for rain
20 OAT, 70 IAT with some Ash in the stove. We're having a bit of a cool down for a few days, then the upward trending warmth will continue.
22F now & a brisk North wind. Going into the teens tonight, so I loaded the boiler with Elm & Ash rounds. Got about 5" total snow, kinda heavy stuff. Cold till Saturday then back into the 30's. Hoping the ground gets hard again for a Saturday outing with the saws.
43ºF outside here. I guess the weather that's in Pa and western NY is going to come flying thru through the night as it is supposed to clear out around 10AM tomorrow. No fire here today. Maybe in the morning. HHO retail dropped to $2.01 this morning and wholesale dropped another 7¢ today so retail might drop another 7¢ tomorrow morning and maybe again on Friday. Under two bucks is cheaper than firewood for me ( what firewood would cost if I had to buy it) so I might get lazy with the short burns to raise the temps a little bit and just bump the thermostat up. When it rains it's nice to have a fire, even if it is a short one, so we'll see. Once this rain goes by it's supposed to get sorta cold again. If I find myself checking a cold stove out of habit I'll probably light one up.
25° outside burning elm and ash. 68° in the back hall where the tstat is. Low 70's in the stove room. The furnace is bored. Too bad for it.
Low 20's and windy. Loaded the BKK with Osage. It takes a while for things to get to temp, so I have pay attention. But, I'll be burning down coals this time tomorrow night, so there is that.
It's winter , there is snow outside , the stove is choochen and it's 77 degrees in the stove room. Burn on , everyone
About 28 with rain freezing. Almost freezing. White Pine heating things this morning. School delayed two hours so far.
39 out with heavy rain and wind gusts over 40 and building. Haven’t reloaded yet, it’s 77 in the stove room. Cooling down once the storm blowing through this afternoon. Big snow in the mountains today.
14 here, so I just got a fire goin'. Very slight chill in the air should go away soon (kept the thermostat at 67 overnight). I'll keep the fire going all day. Light snow is coming down.....hope that stops.
