Teamwork got it done today. 1-2 punch with Stihl noodles and Husky X-cuts then FHC muscle.

Did the stump ever come down? Or will that be for another day? (Not that James Miller lacks enough oak)

Stump stands as in the pic. End of the day I started feeling fatigued and the chain was less than optimal after all the sawing. Best to just leave it for another time. I'll definitely offer more help to finish off that base. It's so much easier to cut wood that big with a bar long enough to get through it with one cut.

20200223_164125.jpg What a difference a day can make. Yesterday was all big saws and loud noises. Today grabbed the smallest saw I have and cut up some dead mostly dry stuff for my cousin who's out of wood again. I make out pretty good on giving him good wood when he runs out. Last year he made a 7910 show up on my doorstep as trade for the wood I took him. 20200223_174302.jpg So I guess I'll help him keep the gas man away for the rest of the season.

That oak came from another local property. Oak isn't hard to come by around here. Be nice if it took less time to season.

Ok, I thought it might be what you cut today for your cousin. Oak is plentiful down here as well, probably the most dominant hardwood here.

Seems to dry a little faster. We also split a little smaller. Older folks, nobody much down here has OWB, got a new customer this year that has one, he can burn about anything.

I think how you stack it plays a big role to. I stack single rows 8' high there in direct sunlight and catch the wind all day. Never seen the need for 2 years on oak. 20200129_101607.jpg Stuff drys fast like this.

The wood wolverine you still interested in taking down the big stem? If not I'm putting the 32 on the dolmar and getting after it.

Heck yeah! Let me get a fresh edge on my long chains and I'll get back to ya. After my last monster oak haul, I was tired of filing and left them blunt. Do you have a time frame it needs done by? I just plopped a new to me wood burning furnace in my basement last night and I need to do a swap.

10-4. Maybe this coming weekend as my wife works sat-sun? I'm hoping to do the stove swap then, and put up snow retainers on my garage roof, so maybe sunday. Weather is supposed to be nice, if you trust those hacks that far out.

Did you get all that tree processed yet? We need :woodsign: pics... :axe: :stack::stack::stacker:
