I left the handlebar @ work and I need to do a muff mod. Oh, I need a bah and decal for the clutch cover too.
They went right in the drink. I picked up a clutch cover because it was missing one. The colors were way off so that sealed the deal to go dark. 2 bottles of Rit and a couple hours in the hot tub. Forgot one daggum piece!
Whatever plastic that the stickers are made from will not absorb Rit dye . So, you just put the part in the solution decals and all . You do need to pay attention to temps though . Too hot ,and the adhesive will let go .
You got some nice saws, both in the pictures and your signature. 288 & 346 are 2 near the top of my wish list. & they just moved up a notch today because I got my 266se
Just came in the mail today. I think a person would have to look a long time to find one much better overall. Got honest usage wear but not been beat on. I do think the top cover was replaced at some point, it just looks a little better than the overall “patina” of the rest of it. Has one little chip missing out of the top rear of clutch cover near the handle bar. Compression is north of 155, and piston looks excellent. Starter recoil was junked up so not sure I got a good comp check. Fresh fuel and was running on 4th pull. Don’t think the bar had ever been in wood. And a perfect condition owners manual to boot! I couldn’t be more pleased I’ve been wanting one of these since I really started running saws
Love the looks of the 2 series I just don't care for the rubber anti-vibe. Someday I'll have a Dominator 288. It's like an old muscle car.
