Winter has a hold on us like none in a few years. Can't remember a Feb like this
in years. Must be global warming. 10* this morning. 2" last night.
Oak beams cranking out the comfort.

I hear that. Winter of '77 in Alaska, before freeze up we put in 4 foundations.
Worked through the winter. It was good to have work but it was miserable.
I still have my Sorel boots and Carhart insulated coveralls.
    Glad those are just memories.

99lbs and I were just talking about it yesterday afternoon after I got back from my morning walk (cold brisk wind; she decided to use treadmill!)

There were mornings that the outdoor thermometer read -44 -45 and I would jump into the car and head out to a long cod misery filled day.....usually in a non heated space of new construction. :picard:

Memories like those are why my opinion of that particular employer have sunk into the chitter.

Did you expect that level of cold weather? I didn't but mine is nowhere near as bad as what you have.

10 and 77, just reloaded with a high btu mix since it won’t get much beyond the teens today and below zero tonight. Stove room was 82 at 9 last night and it held well.

Greta T. just dropped by. It's 72 F in a sudden warm front out of Alabama, and we're walking nude in the snow holding hands and skipping.

East of the armpit called York. 1 minute from the Susquehanna. Says Wrightsville for my address but really outside of a "hamlet" called Craley.

Yup. Michigan gets that all summer long. I always have to laugh, especially around the Straits at the tourists freezing in July and August and wondering if it ever warms up in the UP. We used to tell them we had 2 seasons; winter and the 4th of July.

Only down to 10 overnight but the forecast for the next few days really looks good.

Right...another cranky Maine saying: " Maine has 11 months of Winter, and one month of poor sledding."
Yup, we get those damp, cool days with fog and wind in July and August. We always liked cruising Downeast in September-October even with frost on the decks.
No bugs, little fog, less people out in the Fall. The booze cruisers always haul before or on Labor Day, then go back "where they came from". We are snooty.
