Beautiful day on Long Island. I decided to split a load of hickory yesterday. All in all I got about half a cord of beautiful hickory out of it. This will be used mostly on the smoker.

Never used a smoker. Do you use charcoal for a coal base or just wood?

Very nice smoker! I use a water unit made by Brinkman (upright bullet style). I’d love to step up to what you have someday soon. Can’t wait to fire mine up again. C’mon spring!

I like the axe handle. Nice touch! Never really smoked here either. We've tried wood chips as we use charcoal.
Some real nice looking, well in this case, smoker wood!

After seeing your trailer build, I’d commission you to build one if I could afford it! Mine could be your prototype, Lol

That's the way to do it man. I smoked two pork shoulders over Sugar Maple on Tuesday but split Shagbark Hickory is my normal goto.

Love it. I got it under half price. Very little smoke once it gets burning hot.
