Local tree service is clearing trees from power lines.

These are in front of a friend's house.

It's a mix. Mostly maple of some kind and possibly, some skinny elm.

Should be laying down, sometime this week. About a 5 min drive.

Be prepared for lots of uneven and short/long cuts. Also imagine they will chip a lot of it since they aren't too big in diameter.

He gave you dibs? Good stuff and convenient. Gotta love it. Can they leave it in length and you can buck to your size? Talk to the crew and ask. Saves them work.
    Nice score btw!

Not sure I can be there when the tree service will be dealing with them.

I suspect that once clear of the wires, they'll just drop them as they are. The canopy and brush will get chipped.

I'll cut them into 4ft lengths, and bring them home for further processing. If too heavy, then 32in lengths. I want to keep wood chips to a minimum, as he is particular about his lawn.

Go get them Mike! Boy, those can be a nightmare taking down, especially if you don't have the right equipment.

Stopped by this morning. Trees are still vertical.

I talked to my friend, who told me, he told the tree service, to cut into 4 foot lengths. Dilly Dilly!!

I may swing by later today, to put out some yellow tape around the logs, if they are down.

I expect they'll be done later today.

I'll head over later for a load, and criss cross the rest with yellow "don't cross" tape.

    Guessing 2 cords

About time they got there, you've been having too many sleepless nights. Those look like wood hoarding hands!
What town is that in MikeInMa ?

    Unless it's?

That 3 letter word that begins with E and ends with M?

There is a small cluster of it. If they leave it, that's fine. It's not thick enough needing to split.

That's super! Looks like a nice quiet street to do your cutting and loading on. Lots of trunks!

I went back to check on progress.

    IMG_20200226_124927384.jpg
I came back home to pout. Can't load any while the tree service is there. I get it. I was told they'll be outta there at 4pm. I'd like to get at least one load today.

Not as quiet as it looks. Well traveled road. However, there is sufficient space to get off the road to load.

A buddy of mine has a Ford 250. We'll be there Saturday to get what I don't get before then.

Tomorrow is a washout, regarding weather. Maybe a couple of loads Friday, with my minivan.

, the house across the street is close to the road. I'll guess the road did not come first. It also has an interesting chimney top. You don't see a lot of that brickwork around here.
