How wet can wood be and still burn?

    A video I posted yesterday. Maple was split back in Aug/Sep 2019 but its been buried in the snow banks since December. I guess it needs more time to dry. :)

    Put some dish soap on those ends, leave the loading door open, and you kids will have a blast chasing the bubbles around! :rofl: :lol:

    Well let's just say if buZZsaw Brad took his MC reader to the wood I am burning he would :bug: and prob chase me around the yard with his saw :saw:. :rofl: :lol:

    probably not. If you bypassed a good scrounge i might do that, but only after i used it to hoard the wood you didnt take!

    How wet CAN burn...is wet as it comes. Think about forest fires and live trees burning up. You can always get it to burn, but should you is the better question.

    For sure you can get most wood to burn. I well remember when I started working in the sawmill. Every day we had a slab pile burning and it did not matter what type of wood we were milling. Of course we would throw some gas on it to really get it started in the mornings but we had fire and it felt good on cold winter days. It was nice too because we always cut some forked sticks and toasted our sandwiches in the fire when we ate dinner.
