Beautiful! That is one pocket of NH that I haven’t been to yet. I used to ski in the Whites a lot, and have skied South off the Kanc, at the bottom of the hairpin turn, up to Greeley Ponds, but not far enough to see down into the valley. Very interesting to see on the map that Sabbaday Falls is in the town of Waterville Valley.
Oh God! I hope folks were Ok! He didn't see it there, he had about 2 seconds to react. Maybe they need to make a law that all "Moose" where Safety Orange at night!
Did one give you a kiss recently? I've seen plenty in NH. Actually the only one we saw this past Fall was in NH. Hanging out by the hwy. We spent a lot of time at the coast in NE, so less chances to see them there.
I've only seen two meese in NH. One crossing the road about a mile from the Mt Washington hotel, and the other in the bed of a truck on Rt16 in Conway.
Yeah, watch ram the car from NY that was parked in front of your car at the moose looking spot. They started and kept honking at the juvenile that was getting close to their car. Pi$$ed off papa moose came running across the swamp and rammed their car. Yep. Saw it happen right in front of me. After I saw that their car was running and they were ok and able to get away, I left the scene. Idiots. No offense to any NY'ers but that was idiotic. No moose were harmed either.
My Neighbor down the road from me up in Ashuelot says there's "several" that walk the woods up around my land. There are a few ponds on various properties they can drink from. I just haven't seen any yet! I'm sure when I least expect it I'll see one. I also hear we have a few Black Bear also.
A few other pics. Other pics of my camping trip can be found here, if you need help falling asleep - https://photos.app.goo.gl/sqr2MsDdBJaUx8qq8 So lucky to have such a wilderness available, just 3rs to my north. Nice chunk of God's country, for sure.
