Looks like he is a wood chip off the old block! Some nice standing dead to be found. Another memorable day.
Wow what an adventure, i had to leave my phone home with the little guy. He needed to stay busy while Whitney was cleaning. I got through maybe 500 feet of trail on the new 50 acre trails. I couldnt have picked a better scenario with the trails on this spot and all of the absolutely perfect dead standing red oak. I cant wait to sample this beautiful product tonight. Gonna split it all now cuz its already sold.
That looks amazing! I'd throw it in my stove right now. Wonder why so much standing dead, gypsy moths in the past? I can remember them being really bad around here in the '90s...
Another beautiful day of hoarding, the red oak in this pic is for my personal stash. I need to save some of this wood because it compares to burning my three year old oak. When im done hunting dead wood theres a ton of dying oaks in this 50 acre lot. My phone died so no pics of my Dad, brothers-in-law and nephew coming to my rescue though. I went through a spot ( never looked at the map yesterday) thinking everything was frozen that the landowner marked on the map that i shouldn't go through and my back rt tire got buried. Good thing we all live 5 minutes down the rd. I wish i had video of my Dads truck pulling me out, its a 2017 Gmc extended cab diesel dually. I swear this thing could drag a brick home down the rd.
I would keep that oak too! Your unplanned family time must have been fun. I can't get over all the laurel on that property, it must be gorgeous in late May- early June.
Hit up the 40 acres for some easy sick Ash, in and out 30 minutes. Split it up already and did some late night stacking. Piece on the tailgate is for me to try out my new alaskan saw mill.
Got stuck more than once last Winter myself. My famous last words "i wont get stuck" Good thing close to home and had someone to call!
Hey Chris, someone's stealing your thunder.... DRY HARDWOOD FIREWOOD - farm & garden - by owner - sale
I just got another 80 acres to poke around on. This spot is 5 minutes down the road. Sick Ash on both sides of the driveway
