yep, we have training on that stuff. The materials give off some wicked stuff when burned. Part of a car seat belt mechanism emits cyanid when it burns. Gives you something to think about sticking your head into a burned car, looking around
Hoping it gets as nice this afternoon as it did yesterday. Son left for PA this morning. It was nice having him here for a few days.
A few days off while wife and kids are on vacation. They have 7 more days. Workout with my son completed early this morning. Cooked three omelettes with cheese, onions and peppers for us and and my wife. Two girls being lazy in their rooms. I’m going to be lazy for a bit now and then go plug the 310J in and let it warm up for a while. Maybe around noon or 1-ish I’ll try moving some dirt.
My son just stopped by with a package. He won it at an ice fishing tournament in the UP of Michigan. They any good?
I bought one of those, set it up and used my crappiest chain as a test. It absolutely destroyed it. Put it back in the box and returned it.
Staying at Mom's for a few days as she is back home. She is getting around with her walker but it takes a lot of energy. I am the wood furnace stoker for a few days as well. So nice to have wood heat.
I think I have two chains on the peg that are about done for. I will try this thing out on them and report back. As far as my good chains? I think I will just keep touching them with a file. Full confession here. When my chains get really bad I buy a dozen doughnuts and stop by my old city shop where I am retired from. When the boys devour the doughnuts, I use the sharpening machine we had mounted on a wall at eye level. Works great don’t remember the name of the unit but I know it was Scandinavian not German,,,,
I will bore you guys and gals with a logger story. The first time we did a timber sale in our woods I took a day off work and followed the timber feller. He was an older gent and he had a young guy with him to tap plastic wedges in. After two maybe three trees he would reach into his chaps and pull out a file. His saw had prolly a 30 inch bar so it took him awhile to touch it up. After each time he used a file, he threw it into the woods! I started picking them up and finally asked him why do you toss them after one use? He said “I been dropping trees for 40 years and buy files by the gross. Ain’t got time to use a dull file no pros do”. unquote He never put a handle on them or used a guide in any way shape or form. He just flicked the file over his shoulder!
those were the tears of the non XXXXX supporters....................can not race under those conditions
These guys don't care.. Granted, they are not as fast in the rain, nor do they lean as far over in the rain, but still... Especially when you see them on a wet track that is drying, on slick race tires, then you see how skilled they are.
Hope mom regains her energy. My mom, 93 years old, is scheduled to come home from the nursing home on Fri. after a bout with the flue. Wishing your mom all the best.
ole. I also have an old timer, that sharpens chains and makes new ones for less than it cost me to bother to learn he’s probably pushing 80.. a bottle of bourbon will get 20 chains filed.. I worry about taking advantage of the kind gent, BUT he says da wife won’t let me smoke a stogie in da house.
I hope it gets better for your mom. Are you on winter break from school? Being in their own home is so important for old folks, I hope she can make it work.
Good for her for licking the flu! I hope her return home is successful as well. 93, she must be pretty tough.
He will see your post at home. He is probably watching curling today. Women's Canadian championship curling all week. Winner goes to the World women's curling tournament.
