I took down a big dead Cherry today. Its on the edge of my property about 500' into the woods. Over 28" at the stump, forked off so there were 2 large trunks, about 15-16" each. The biggest trunk pieces were full of dirt and other crap like ice. Made a mess at the splitter. I filled up two cages, and have a couple more 10" or so limbs to buck up. Will probably fill another half a basket. There is another dead Cherry almost the exact same size about 15 yards further away.
Good for you. There’s a couple cherry trees that die in my woods every year. I like to mix it with ash or hackberry. I’ve burnt quiet a bit of it this year.
