Trying to gather some information on this saw for a possible future restoration. I don't know much about it other than they used a xl98 as a base unit. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
On my bucket list for sure.Just not willing (or able now that I'm retired) to pay the usually outrageous price asked for a complete one of these that also looks good & runs strong. The XL100 wasn't basedon the XL98 cut off saw,I have one of those from a small town FD somewhere in PA.They were based on the XL-12 series from 1964-67ish,3.3 cube 54cc engine. The XL98 came later,in the early 70's,was produced well into the 1980's. It was based on the XL900 series first introduced in early 70's - XL900,901,903,904,923,924,925,SuperXL 925 with minor differences between them.I have a XL924W - west coast model with full wrap handlebar, extra large 4 tooth falling spike. The SuperXL925 is probably the best known/most commonly found of the bunch, its a legendary saw still very popular today.
Thanks Thistle. It does run and cut I just have never had time to show it some love. I'd really like to get a parts breakdown for it.
