I have been thinking I need to start reading more again. I found this thread after a quick search. Just ordered "Missing 411: Western United States". Has anyone read it? Also, what are you reading right now/ what's on deck to read?
Read Dune when I was a kid. Always thought the ending was stupid, like Hebert had 5 minutes to finish it. IMO, must reads are Clinton, Inc/Halper and Profiles of Corruption/Schweizer. I liked Patterson and Grisham for a while but then they all started to seemed to be predictable scripts.
L Ron Hubbard Mission Earth This is a dekology(10 books). One of the best reads I’ve had and I’m a voracious sci-fi, post apocalyptic (but not zombies) , survivalist fan. Mission Earth (novel series) - Wikipedia Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wide selection below On the light reading side more geared toward younger audiences (I read most of the books prior to recommending them for my children) Dragon riders of Pern series (teens) Rangers Apprentice series (very clean book safe for all ages with good story line) Warriors of the Way (high school) Very interesting and different Middle Ages Viking saga This way up Cy Frailey Big people books Rainbow Six By Tom Clancy love the ending as well as others in series WEB Griffin WWII Asia, Europe, Korea, some Vietnam era. Detective series. Stay away from William E Butterworth (his son) they are just profane and not nearly as well written American Lion by Jon Meacham about Andrew Jackson How war came by Donald Watt The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman Robinson Crusoe FoxFire Series Jean Auel Earths Children (Great series IF you skip the romance portions that approaches soft core) The Memoroirs of Chief Red Fox Out of the Jaws of the Lion (Christian missionary account of Belgium Congo uprising) Gates of Fire about the Spartian battle at Thermopylae the opening paragraph will put you in awe to understand what the Spartans faced.
Have read many of the mentioned books. Quick suggestion; Last of the Breed by Louis L' Amour. About a captured American pilot, who is part Sioux Indian, imprisoned in Siberia who escapes and survives across the Taiga toward Alaska. Not an exceedingly in depth read but interesting. Not the usual LL type of book. I enjoyed it.
